Possets Perfume Review

...Affordable Bottled Happiness...
Possets is a perfumer which makes two kinds of exceptionally original perfumes: Classic Possets and 100% Natural Possets. All Possets are oil based fragrances. Possets perfume oils are made from time honored man made and natural components. Our Naturals are entirely made of pure and natural ingredients without so much as one drop of man made components in them. Naturals are more expensive but they are made from more costly materials and take a good deal of skill to pull off, that is why they are more expensive than the Classics.
All the Possets are hand blended from scratch by Fabienne Christenson. Not one of them is just a perfume oil, or accord, or essential oil, or perfuming chemical dumped in a bottle and given a fancy name. I sweat over each and every recipe I come up with, try and err, improve and take a risk, try again and *bing* it becomes perfume.
My preference in perfume is to the thoroughly hedonistic blends. I am not very fond of anything astringent and bracing. I love to explore the newer ideas in perfumery. Sometimes I do go back in time and resurrect an ancient formula and pull it into 21st century form and I pay very careful attention when I do that. So I have been known to produce somewhat dry formulae as well as sweet and foody!
I come out with new blends very frequently and try to start off each season with a long offering of "Seasonal Blends" which are perfect for the time. So I will come up with Spring Blends which might disappear when summer occurs (June 21). I try to give a lot of warning that the Seasonals will go away before they are gone so you can stock up. Some of the Seasonals turn into Permanent Collection blends because they get such a warm welcome.
I want to produce a product which is absolutely first class and yet is affordable to the average perfume lover. I want you to afford to have an entire fragrance wardrobe. Possets are either $10 or $20 for 6ml of oil based perfume. That is a steal in this age!
All of the Permanent Collection of Possets (Classic and Natural) are available in sample sizes. Alas, I cannot make sample sizes of the Seasonal Possets, but there are decant circles which will decant Seasonals for you, or sometimes you can buy them outright, just ask on the forum.
Shipping can be chosen by the customer. I have provided all kinds of shipping options for you including the cheapest possible way which is usually the United States Postal Service. All parcels overseas which are First Class International (the least expensive way to ship) will be taken to the Post Office by me in order to be stamped and sent.
All orders over $50 are shipped for free to anywhere. That means that overseas parcels will go for free to anywhere on the planet, as well as American shipments. All free parcels will be sent First Class either Domestic (for the Americans) or International First Class (for everyone in a foreign country).
I hope you try Possets. There has been infinite care given to each and every one.

Dangerous Oil
Buy it here
Dark and heady, what even Madame X would wear if she had to be assured of a conquest. Dangerous Oil is infused with the finest of rare things. 6 musks from blackest black up through a rare and gorgeous in itself purple/blue musk hybrid. A good jolt of labdenum and an edge of cognac. The heart note is an entire chypre made only for this project and used for no other. There is a fresh and almost gardenia-like part to this (but there is no gardenia in it), it is not a floral but a resinous blend but there is a mesmerizing beauty to it.

The Gingerbread Whorehouse
Buy it here
That gingerbread house from your childhood? Well the neighborhood has changed and now it sports a red light out front! Very foody, very sweet, very sexy, very grown up in a sex kitten way. This is European Gingerbread given an American Cajun jolt with the spices, cher! Mmmm. Unisex, sexy-sex, and wow. Oh, the sign outside does say,"Ho Ho Ho House". Heh. You might end up with a whole new reputation. Sweet, foody, gourmand, spicy.

The Girls Love Vanilla
Buy it here
For anyone who loves loves loves the smell of vanilla, this is the supersaturated honey soaked, sinful, hedonistic custom rare and unabashed blend you have been waiting for. Outrageously lovely. Too pretty for angels almost, but not too pretty for you! Characteristics: vanilla, honey, sweet, foody.
This is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE of the bunch!
I JUST now bought two. One for me and one for my mum (she's now become obsessed with it as well!).
My mum is EXTREMELY sensitive to fragrances... she immediately gets a headache and has now resorted to never wearing perfumes.
That's gotta tell you something about this one, The Girls Love Vanilla.
It is light and smells of sweet (not overly sweet) honey. It dries down to a lovely vanilla.
Not too gourmand, no heavy musk.
It is one of the most special and unique perfume oils my nose has ever sniffed upon!
You must get a sample ASAP!

The Scent of Angels
Buy it here
The lingering odor of sanctity, The Scent of Angels is truly a magnificent and heartbreakingly beautiful perfume. This is what you would imagine you could smell after angels had disappeared. Is it vanilla, is it floral, is it musk? Is it all of those things or is the combination more than the sum of its parts? In any case you will say it is stunning and leave it at that. Imagine one small down feather floating downward after an angel has flitted through your life. Characteristics: crystalline, musky, cooling, sweet, summer scent.

Cri de Coeur (Cry of the Heart)
Buy it here
This fragrance is a real stunner, a true Posset with large lashings of Vanilla, nougat, coconut, sweet musk, tobacco flower, swirling cotton, a drop of nag champa, chypre, black musk and sugar cane. There is the essence of a very good dragon's blood in it, a small amount of lime, and lime blossom. This is quite a complex beauty. Very sweet without being totally foody, long lasting and strong.
Cri de Coeur was originally created as a fragrance to benefit the victims of the Haitian earthquake and was the most popular Posset in 2010.

Madame X
Buy it here
Wicked, sinful, hedonistic, and irresistable. You may not have the heart to play the femme fatale, but you can at least smell the part. It's musky, creamy, enticing, perfumy, slightly foody, but very skin-like. It has a profound effect on men, they have no idea of what is bothering them ...it's you. It has a profound effect on the wearer as well. Since I created Madame X I have changed my hairstyle, bought a gorgeous black strapless long dress (and have a place to wear it) and many other disturbing personality changes, too. Don't miss out on Madame X. The more I wear this one, the more I love her.  A constant favorite among the Possetiers.Characteristics: musky, creamy, feminine, foody, gourmand, scent locket.

Silver Carnations
Buy it here
There has been a clamber for this and here it is. I really love this one, it turned out better than I thought it would. Long lasting and just beautiful from the start, Silver Carnations stays true from the first moment until the last. The "silver" part that you love combined with the spice and flower carnation that you wanted. A winner.

Strawberry Heart
Buy it here
Sweet, simple, lovely. Scrumptious strawberry untrammeled by anything other than the most perfect of vanillas. Other people dip their berries in champagne, let them, we have found the ultimate in indulgence. So. Very. Good. Have you ever noticed how strawberries look just like little hearts? Sweet, foody, innocent, girly, fruity, foody, gourmand, divine.
