Pressed Mineral Makeup from Fusion of Color Cosmetics!

Kathy, the creator of Fusion of Color, asked me if I would like to try out her line of cosmetics.
While browsing her website, I noticed it was Mineral Makeup!
I have had a love-hate relationship with mineral makeup. When I first started blogging on Vox, I met a small group of mineral makeup fanatics. They all exposed me to MANY different mineral makeup lines.
I became OBSESSED with mineral cosmetics- I bought product from almost every mineral makeup line I could think of.
Then, I noticed I wasn't really using it...
It slowly became a fad, something part of my beauty-past.
I ask myself today why I grew apart from MMU, and I think the main reason is the packaging.
Some people don't mind it, but I prefer to have PRESSED makeup.
Seriously, it got so messy and I have color EVERYWHERE.
I know that sounds like the cliche excuse, but it's the honest truth.
I admit, I was a little hesitant when Kathy contacted me.
I told her I didn't like loose minerals and to my surprise she makes PRESSED mineral makeup!
I was ecstatic to finally find a mineral brand that appealed to the pressed-MMU-lovers.
For your own curiosity, check out my old blog HERE.
My old blog has HUNDREDS of MMU swatches from tons of different brands!
I still kept that blog up because it has tons of info on MMU (swatches, reviews, etc.)
But on March 25th 2009 (wow it's been over a year already!), I decided to spread my wings and fly into the blogger-sphere.
I consider my old blog to be a part of my MMU past.
The whole thing was almost dedicated to mineral makeup!

Empty Magnetic Compact
(filled with a blush and 3 eyeshadows)
Buy the compact HERE
$6

Blush in ROSES
Buy it HERE
Blush in Compact is $15
Single Pan Blush is $8

In all honesty, when I first saw it, I thought it would be too light.
But now, I think it is BEAUTIFUL.
The texture of these pressed minerals are different, let's say from a MAC blush.
The texture is soft and it feels delicate. It swatches so easily!
I would describe it as a pale baby pink with pearl sheen/shimmer.
If you like MAC's Well Dressed blush, then you'll like this!

Pressed Eye Shadows
Buy them HERE
Left to right:
Bisque, Truffle & Wine
4 well pressed eyeshadow kit/compact $30
Single compact eyeshadow $10
Left to right:
Bisque, Truffle & Wine
Bisque is a matte, neutral, nude shade that can be worn on the eyelid or on the brow bone; it's an "ALL-OVER" shade)
Truffle is a light, shimmery, purple-toned mauve; slightly on the taupey side and I LOVE IT!
(unfortunately it was cracked when I received it- but it's still staying together!- dang postmen)
Wine is a matte, deep, maroon-brown with red undertones (this shade is AMAZING); think of mixing MAC's Folie with Embark (not as light as folie, but not as dark as embark)

Fibre Optics Brush
$17.75
Buy it HERE
This is different than the coastal scents skunk brush.
I have both and I like this one much better (it's a little more dense. which is best in my opinion).
I used this one to apply my liquid foundation, and WOW it went on so easily, fast and smooth.
The combination of goat hair (natural bristles) and the fibre optics (synthetic bristles) make the application flawless.

Butter Lipstick
in Summer Mist
$4.50
Buy it HERE
I really like the sheer, hydrating moisture that this lip product has to offer.
I wouldn't necessarily categorize it as a lipstick; it is definitely a tinted lip balm.
It adds a hint of color, a little glossiness and tons of hydration.
Plus, it's extremely affordable!

Lip Magic
$7.25
Buy it HERE
This is a plumping lip gloss without the tingling affect.
Well, at least I didn't feel the burning/tingling.
I think it's just very hydrating and definitely thicker than a sheer lipgloss.
It's a nice product, but unfortunately I did not see "plumper lips."
The again, I am used to those burning and tingling lip plumpers (I know, I'm insane and weird)!

I Lite
$8.00
Buy it HERE
This is probably my favorite product from the package of goodies.
This flesh-tone pencil can be used in the inner corners to brighten up the eye.
It can be used ON the waterline (inner eye rim) to help brighten your eyes (which works better and less harsh than using a full on WHITE eyeliner).
But I love it because it reminds me of MAC's limited edition Lip Liner in Naked (that sold out).
The price isn't bad at all! $8 bucks for a quality product :)

The following products were sent to me by the company for reviewing purposes.
I am always 100% honest in my reviews.
For more information, please read the disclaimer on the right-hand-side of my blog.
Thank you.

Hey luv,

What do you think about their empty compact? Is it convenient and it is a good quality compact? They don't give much details on their products :(, no dimensions, I don't know what material it's made of etc. Would you recommend it?
Thanks, you're the best :)

The pressed powders are seriously pigmented! Seems like some decent dupes in there too. Thanks for sharing with us Whit!

Hey Sindy! The compact is about the size of a MAC 4 pan palette (maybe a slightly bigger)... See the pictures? Those pressed shadows are the size of MAC single shadows and the blush is about the size of Make Up For Ever eyeshadows- I bet I could fit two more shadows in the compact (so yeah I guess it might be bigger than a 4-pan mac quad/palette lol!).
Hope this helps :)
